Treating Amelogenesis Imperfecta with the Er:YAG Laser

Prof. Carlo Fornaini MD, DDS, MSc

This case study describes the treatment of a fifteen year-old female patient with amelogenesis imperfecta of the upper central incisors. When treating these types of lesions, it is important that we ablate the minimum volume of enamel and, at the same time, give the maximum result possible in terms of aesthetic appearance. For this reason, we decided to use the Fotona Er:YAG laser, which can produce precise and minimally-invasive ablation.
