Diastema Closure and Frenectomy with a Er:YAG laser

Emil Litvak, DDS

In this clinical case we needed to perform a diastema closure and a frenectomy using a VSP Technology supported Er:YAG laser. At regular checkups after 48 hours, one week, three months and six months there were no signs of infection, irritation or sensitivity. This proves that in the treatment of low and overactive buccal frenum Er:YAG laser surgery has inherent characteristic outcomes of minimal bleeding, a reduced need for anesthesia and fast and excellent healing.
