Dr. Scott Benjamin is an internationally recognized lecturer, author, authority, educator, and trainer on dental lasers and advance dental technologies and is in full time private practice in Sidney, New York, in the USA where he utilizes several lasers of different wavelengths on an everyday basis.

Dr. Benjamin is an Adjunct Professor at Midwestern University, Colleges of Dental Medicine, an Associate Professor of Clinical Dentistry at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He is intimately involved with developing the program for laser education with ADEA’s Lasers in Dentistry-Special Interest Group (LiD-SIG) for the dental and hygiene schools’ core educational curriculum in both the didactic and clinical environment.  He is Co-Chair of the ADA Standards Committee’s Working Group on Dental Lasers and the Working Group on Digital Imaging Technologies and is a member of the ANSI Committee Z136 on Laser Safety and is a Past-President of the Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD).  

Dr. Benjamin is presently the Technology Section Editor for The Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry and is a member of the editorial board of several prestigious peer reviewed dental journals and has published hundreds of articles, chapters, and technical reports on lasers, diagnosis, and other advanced dental technologies.

Internationally recognized expert and clinician on the utilization of  lasers and light based technologies.  Additionally, Dr. Benjamin is an authority on laser safety and other technology standards and has been intimately involved in the development of many technologies used in oral healthcare. He has over 40 years of clinical and teaching experience with advanced dental technologies utilizing over a dozen different wavelengths for diagnosis, restorative, surgical, and photobiomodulation procedures in everyday patient care.
