Leon Meglič, MD, PhD

Leon Meglič received his medical degree from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia in 1992. He concluded his specialization in Ob/Gyn at the University Clinical Center Ljubljana in 1998, and in the year 2000 received his PhD from the University of Ljubljana on the topic of "Genetic risk factors in deep vein thrombosis in pregnancy and puerperium".

Dr. Meglič has extensive experience in Gynaecological and Oncological surgery. He is currently the Head of the department at the University Clinical Center Ljubljana, where he has served as an MD since 1992 and as an Assistant Professor since 2016. He is experienced in counseling patients on diagnosis and treatment, and has been actively teaching surgery skills to residents of Ob/Gyn in the field of gynecological surgery. His main field of work and research has recently been associated with HPV infections in gynecology.

Dr. Meglič also serves as the Head of the Professional Council for Ob/Gyn  at the Slovene Medical Association, and as Vice President of the Slovenian Association for Colposcopy and Oncological Gynecology.
