Ercole Romagnoli: Fotona’s Pulse Forming Technology in Various Clinical Situations

The dental practitioner, in daily practice, deals with several types of soft and hard tissues, in physiological, pathological or induced conditions. Looking at the concept of minimally invasive dentistry, laser technology is a valid opportunity. Pulsed lasers in particular offer safer working conditions, being less dependent on manual skill if compared with, e.g., lasers operating in CW. Therefore, the management of the single pulse is a crucial aspect. Fotona’s VSP technology and its related developments enable one to choose the most appropriate pulse duration for a given intervention, with a specific temporal structure so that the energy is delivered in an optimal way to reduce the danger of unwanted side effects.
