On Friday, May 20th 2011, the first annual Laser and Health Academy (LAHA) Symposium, titled "Lasers in Medicine and Surgery", took place at the Alpine resort of Gozd Martuljek in Slovenia. During the symposium a total of 15 clinical experts from around the world gathered to discuss the latest applications and developments in medical laser technology.

Prof. Dr. med. dent. Norbert Gutknecht presented a lecture about new developments and trends in the field of laser dentistry at the Laser and Health Academy in Ljubljana, where he was awarded an honorary lecturer certificate by Dr. Matjaz Lukac, chairman of LA&HA.
